I-5 / HISTORY

A club built by families.

In 1996, Clint Tibbits, Denny Geiger and Mark Pierce and their families founded the I-5 Quarter Midget Club. Its first home was a rented dirt track in Chehalis, Washington. The I-5 corridor brought racing families together from across the region.

The club moved to Vader in 2000, where Dan and Bonnie Press built a track beside their home. In 2004, the club moved to Elma, partnering with Fred Brownfield and Grays Harbor Raceway. Volunteers built the permanent quarter midget facility in just 26 weeks.

Grays Harbor Mini Raceway became a home for young racers and their families. I-5 hosted the Dirt Grands in 2006 and again in 2017. The dedication of parents, volunteers and supporters continues to shape the club today.
